Latest Updates from Our Project:

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving and here are some new stretch goals.
over 3 years ago – Thu, Nov 26, 2020 at 03:50:47 AM

So I have been working through some design ideas for the Quintessential Tabletop stretch goal accessories and came up with a few things.  To start out as a thank you for helping make this project a reality we are going to give everyone (standard size/draw and discard slots) a carder holder that attaches to the top edging.  If we reach $12,000 in pledges we will also create a dice 4"x6" tray that will also attach to the rail.  These both will be made out of 1/8 inch birch plywood (sorry they won't be made out of matching wood) and attach to the railing around the top.  The reason for birch plywood is because of its strength and weight (and the speed that I can produce them on the laser cutter).  All items I create will be available in the STL addon, both for the 3d printer and laser cutter.

I have pictures but for some reason, Kickstarter is not letting me post them.  I will post them as soon as I can.

Thank you everyone for helping us

Several great questions
over 3 years ago – Sat, Nov 21, 2020 at 11:50:22 AM

A great question was asked last night about the top and the videos in the update, and another was asked about our website address and Facebook page so here they are:

The top itself is made of 1/2" High-density MDF(this is not cheap particle board) and a 1" by 1/4" strip of hardwood rims it. The corners will each have a 3d printed corner protector to help keep them safe from getting dinged in most situations (they are designed if dropped to impact first in most situations). The corners are also replaceable and if they get seriously damaged from being dropped replacements (or the STL files in you want to print your own) will be available on the website at a later date.  The board will be painted and treated with polyurethane to waterproof its top and bottom. The top itself is held on by 4 long Neodymium magnets that attach it to the lazy Susan.  As shown in the videos the 24x24 inch tops are very sturdy (the one with the cast iron pot on it) and the 24x36 (the brown top) held the three 750ml bottles of liquid without something to support it in the middle. None of the boards I have built have warped and some of them I have had for two years. But I can't guarantee it won't warp if you leave seriously heavyweights on either end for a long period of time.

Questions about the QT
over 3 years ago – Sat, Nov 21, 2020 at 11:44:11 AM

A question was posed about the stability of the various tops and the nature of some of the addons.   So I am going to post some videos and pictures to help so everyone sees these qualities.

Here is one showing changing the tops I put on Facebook.

Here is a video showing weight on the corner of two of the tops (24x24 and 24x36).

Here are some of the prototype STL's I have made for the add-ons

small cards holder
regular sized card holder
token holder
Dice tray clips

All of these are the prototypes, when the campaign is finished I will refine them more to make sure they look and work perfectly.
